For any parents considering investing in new baseball bats for the upcoming season, this is a reminder that Little League Baseball International has adopted new bat standards that go into effect January 1, 2018. While Loudoun South Little League provides each team with approved bats for use during the season, many parents choose to purchase bats on their own for use by their child. These bats can be a significant investment, potentially costing $300 or more.
Beginning in 2018 all bats used in Little League Baseball must bear the "USA Baseball" logo.
The below link will take you to the 2017 approved list of bats for use in Little League Baseball as well as a summary of the new standards that come into effect in 2018. Please note that as of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that are approved for use for the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity starting on January 1, 2018.

An LSLL alum's baseball journey:
For most of Dylan Rosnick's life, he was told he wouldn't be able to play the sport he loved most: baseball. Rosnick was born with Proteus syndrome, an extremely rare growth disorder that made his fingers and toes grow out of sync with the rest of his body. This made routine tasks, like tying shoes or buttoning shirts, difficult undertakings. But with time, Rosnick found a way to live normally. And in the process, he’s been able to pursue his dream of pitching on his high school baseball team. After making the team, Dylan’s coaches didn't expect him to pitch very much. But Dylan knew he had the right stuff ... and proved it beyond even his imagination. See the below link:
